Has ANYONE noticed the discrepancy in the age difference between Saroo and Guduu? Guddu is said to be 14 when he died which was the same night that Saroo went missing....at the age of 5. However, there is a section in the book in the 2nd to the last chapter, he said that his mother was pregnant with his sister and he was 3. Then in parenthesis was (Kallu 6, Guddu, 9). That would make Saroo 6 years younger, not 9??

Jo Hmmm. I listened to the book, so I didn't pick up on every detail, but in the film they portrayed Guddu as being closer in age to Saroo - or at least,…moreHmmm. I listened to the book, so I didn't pick up on every detail, but in the film they portrayed Guddu as being closer in age to Saroo - or at least, I didn't perceive him to be a teenager. I don't know if Saroo found out he was actually a different age than the guesstimate given by the orphanage officials or if Guddu was younger than he thought. Considering Saroo didn't even know his last name or how to say his first name or town when he was lost it's not surprising that the information is unclear or unreliable. (less)
