Debbie Corso My favorite fictional couple is actually from a TV show, not a book. It's Mulder and Skully from the X-files. Watch them throughout the seasons of the show, and you'll witness a dialectic personified. They so beautifully balance each other out -- Skully with her skepticism and Mulder with his almost unwavering faith -- and over time, they influence and help each other move to a view that embraces and synthesizes both skepticism and faith.

My psychiatrist told me I am at an age, 52 currently, where DBT would not help me because by this age a person is too set in their ways. I have asked several times to be added to our local DBT classes and this was his final response to me. Do you think this is true or can someone of my age or older still be helped by DBT therapy?
