Elizabeth Hoyt:
I always get fascinated as each character intrigues me and envelops me and then I find myself meeting in his books precisely what captivated me. So how you choose who is the hero or heroine of the story to follow? Thanks for wonderfull reading that give me.

Hmm. Well, as the author, I'm looking at the book from the reverse side from you. Picture the book as a piece of embroidery--on the front the embroidery is all pretty and neat. On the back the threads are crossed and knotted to make the front look nice.
Which is all to say that I usually know waaaay before I ever start typing who is going to be the hero/heroine of not only this book but the one after. So I'm glad that it seems organic to you that a hero becomes "captivating" because that means I'm doing my job. ;-)
Having said that, however, I have had a few surprises: Charming Mickey was originally going to be Book 6 of Maiden Lane but I couldn't wait that long--he was too interesting in Book 1. ;-)

Hi Ms.Hoyt. I'd like to ask 1) Are the heroes in the last 3 Maiden Lane books related in some way? 2) Has the heroine in Duke of Desire appeared in Maiden Lane novels before? As I guess the hero will be a new character just like Kilshaw (somehow the pairing of Kilshaw and Alf makes me think of My Fair Lady. But I'm sure yours will take a different twist). Btw, I love, love, love your novels!
