I was provided a “glossary” by my son and daughter in law when I first visited them in Australia. They wrote them down, heheh. Aussies have other names for many things. A ute is a pickup truck in America, the word referencing a utility truck. I’d never heard of the spider however. I’m sure glad my kids live in Tasmania, where it’s beautifully surrounded by water, as opposed to the bush country as described in this novel.(less)
