Goodreads asked Courtney Carr:

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Courtney Carr I've been searching my brain for an answer to this question, and I don't really have one. I think it's because while I do read stories that have couples in them, I don't really read romances and don't get swept up in the drama of those "will they/wont they" relationships, or the stories where one heroine has to choose between two moody men. I'm not a romantic and I don't gravitate to these stories.

The characters of Victoria and Max Stone in my novel Cosmic Decay: Contamination are in a rock solid relationship because this is my experience. I don't buy that romance is the sweeping dramatic affair it is in books. I guess based on that, a fictional couple that I find rock solid would be the pairing of Molly and Niel Sloan in my favourite novel The Taking by Dean Koontz. They go through similar circumstances as Victoria and Max do, and they remain rock solid as well, though individualistic with their own motivations.

I get more involved in fictional couples on TV shows then I do in novels and fiction. Leslie and Ben from Parks and Recreation are my most beloved couple because while they do have the dramatic arch required in the show's storytelling, they are rock solid as well in their pairing. They would be my favourite couple, though not entirely fictional.
