Abigail Johnson If I Fix You is completely fictional. I didn't base the story or characters on real people or events. The idea came from a random scene that popped into my head of a girl sitting on her roof at night talking to the boy next door. I knew neither wanted to go back inside, and I wondered why. I started asking myself more questions about them and their lives and the book grew from there.
