Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Rosemary Monreau Inspector Thomas Lynley, 8th Earl of Asherton, and Detective Sargeant Barbara Havers. They make an unlikely team as they move in opposite socioeconomic settings. Havers is often the proverbial bull in the china shop who initially resented having to partner with this upper-crust Inspector. Over time they develop deep respect and admiration for each other's work and passion to bringing the criminal to justice. Their opposite views and approaches successfully resolve crimes. At the same time, their partnership allows us to see how each responds to challenges in their personal lives. This brings the characters to life and draws the reader deeper into the story.
