Daisy Paquet
Daisy Paquet asked Kellyn Roth:

What was the first book you read that was on a sixth grade level and how old were you when you read it?

Kellyn Roth That's hard to tell as I have no idea what sixth grade level books are. I looked them up and found a list, a few of which I've read. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett was listed as a sixth grade reading level, but I read it when I was eight or nine. Emily's Runaway Imagination by Beverly Cleary was also read around that time if not earlier. And I read all the Black Stallion series by Walter Farley when I was about ten. And ... I was nine when I read King of the Wind by Marguerite Henry, I think. I couldn't have been more than nine.

So, honestly, I have no idea. I do know that my first chapter book was The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner and I was seven, but ... other than that, I haven't really kept track of my reading achievements. :)
