Deborah Blanchard
Deborah Blanchard asked Lisa Jackson:

What is your writing process like? How do you come up with the ideas for your books? BTW, I absolutely love the To Die series and have read them all. You are one of my all time favorite authors.

Lisa Jackson Thank you. I love the “To Die” series as well! There’s always something going on in Grizzly Falls.

I write every day that I can, primarily in the mornings as I’m one of those obnoxious “morning people.” When I’m nearly finished with a book and the end is in sight and the deadline is looming, I “submerge” meaning my family has to leave me alone as much as possible as I’m into the book pretty much 24/7. But I do NOT recommend this schedule to anyone. It’s exhausting and I usually gain 5-10 lbs near the end. Grrr.

My ideas are from life, things I see, memories I have, something I read, a conversation I overheard, an article in a magazine in a doctors office, once, even a radio spot. It depends.
