That is a tough one! But I think I would have to go with Alec and Seregil from the Nightrunner Series by Lynn Flewelling. I love both of those characters and they seem so well suited to each other. Those were one of the first mainstream books I'd read that had LGBT characters in it and that the main pairing was two men did not diminish the story in the slightest. It was a world where all pairings were accepted.
They both go through so much heartache and angst, but they always come back strong, and crucially for me, they tackle things together. I would really love to read more about them, but I think that series is finished for now.
