How do you deal with writer’s block?

Michael Finocchiaro For me, I really like character-driven books, so the blockage comes if (a) I don't have a character in my mind that is fully formed or (b) I hit some kind of plot complexity that I have a problem resolving. In both cases, sometimes, I'll go off on GR and write some book reviews to continue the creative writing process but allow my subconscious to work in the background. In others, I change the kind of music I am listening to to be closer to what music the character I am thinking about would listen to, and this helps me better see through their eyes and write their stories.
