I just want to clarify that the "Theft of Swords" is the merging of the 2 books "The Crown Conspiracy" and "Avempartha"? Thank you for the input.
Michael J. Sullivan
Yes, you are correct. The Riyria Revelations is a six book series, and was originally published by myself as individual books. But then, just before the last book was released, Orbit, (the fantasy imprint of Hachette Book Group) bought the series. They were concerned that it would be difficult to keep six books stocked in bookstores at the same time so they decided to release the book in three, two-book omnibus editions so
* Theft of Swords - contains The Crown Conspiracy & Avempartha
* Rise of Empire - contains Nyphron Rising & The Emerald Storm
* Heir of Novron - contains Wintertide & Percepliquis
The original novels, in their six-book versions, aren't in print any more. Any copies you see for sale are used versions and are sometimes pretty expensive as people feel their rare nature makes them more valuable.

Do you have an ending in mind when you start a book and write backwards or do you write as it comes to you?

I cannot tell you how much I love Riyria! (Chronicles and Revelations). I discovered them -Aug 2018 - I read them in publishing order. I just finished them again this Oct and am into the Chronicles for the 2nd time today. It is just enough time between that I remember enough to stay with it and still be surprised and overwhelmed.Your books have so much emotion in them! I waver from Royce to Hadrian but go with H?

I just finished Theft of Swords; it was 4+. Nice to find some newer fantasy that is not 1. Dark and twisted like Martin, 2. Hard to follow like Erikson, or 3 . Full of modern inuendos (dudespeak) like Weeks. Don't get me wrong, those are good authors, just not what I call high fantasy. Good work. I like the title Rhune (original) better than Age of Legends (how bland). Any chance of changing it back?
