Scarlet Redheart You should take your time and perhaps read one chapter a day? Hardinge likes to dedicate a significant portion of her novels (having also read Gullstruck Island and A Face Like Glass) to building a comprehensive foundation before moving on to the much more exciting and fast paced climax / main plot, and part of my enjoyment from reading her novels comes from how those "boring" chapters were suddenly made meaningful as I uncover the main plot.
Ann Levine If you find it boring, just stop reading. I adored this book, but I also preferred the build up to the climax so...
