How was Joe O'Loughlin brought to life? He's a marvelous, metaphorical character/hero. I love that he's so real. I love that he is a psychologist vs a psychiatrist. I love that this hero has a disability and continues to carry on even after he stumbles and falls both physically and emotionally. Knowing how Vincent came about would be interesting too. I feel I know these guys.

Michael Robotham Joe came to life because I wanted a protagonist, who wasn't a James Bond, Jason Bourne 'superman' but someone far more human. I chose a psychologist with a brilliant mind but a crumbling body; someone who would have to 'think' his way out of trouble and most importantly, someone who cared.
