I am a mystery fan and the reviews are great plus one reader said the cursing was NOT excessive. Hmmm although I am only a short way into this novel, I am finding a lot of foul language. The nasty "f-bomb" has been dropped far more times than I care to read. I am debating putting this on the back burner. Shall I continue?

By all means, put the book down. I respect that you find cursing objectionable and there are many books that would meet your standards. Reality is everyone doesn't speak like a Sunday school teacher, especially those in law enforcement and investigation. I personally don't want an author to censor realistic conversations as it makes the book more poignant and realistic.
I"m sure you are aware there are ratings for books... perhaps it would be helpful to you to read those suitable for younger audiences. You didn't mention if you found explicit sex objectionable.. or excessive violence. Bottom line ....if what an author writes offends, of course you should put it down and mark he or she off your list.

That is your decision. Everyone's tolerance to swearing is different.
