How do you get inspired to write?

Lona Manning "The Muse descends" is how the Ancient Greeks describes it and that's how to feels to me. The inspiration or idea seems comes out of nowhere. If I'm too busy or preoccupied with something else, my Muse goes away.

I remember when 9/11 happened -- I knew there would be a deluge of articles, poems and painting unleashed, because that is how writers, poets and artists process important or traumatic events.
