Do you plan on returning to the Freyaverse and the Palimpsest-verse anytime soon? Does "Ghost Engine" have a paticular angle? Like how "Neptune's Brood" focused on macroeconomy... in space! Thank you.

I'm currently changing American publishers for my SF, so it's difficult (for commercial reasons) to write sequels to anything published previous by Ace.
The one big exception is the Laundry Files, new books in which will be published by Tor.
"Ghost Engine" started out as a spin-off of Palimpsest (if the wormhole generator was used to facilitate interstellar travel rather than time travel) but is very much a thing in its own right; I don't want to discuss it in detail too far ahead of publication. (I can safely say there are some big ideas in it, however.)

Hi Charles, I read recently that Iain Banks (RIP) asked his good friend Ken McLeod to pick up where he left off on the Culture series and use his notes to write the next book. Unfortunately Iain was not able to complete these notes and Ken has no plans to write a Culture novel. Understandable but a pity he would write a great book as I believe you could. Pure hypothetical if asked to write a Culture novel would you?
