Goodreads asked BethAnne Kapansky Wright:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

BethAnne Kapansky Wright Just write. Be fearless. Write some more. Be more fearless. Keep writing and fearing less and push beyond your previous comfort zones.

Learn to handle rejection. Learn to handle people not liking your work. Get behind your own vision of self and get behind your own work. Be true to who you are- don't write how you think others want you to write, write how you feel you must write. Worry less about publication and more about the work, the publication will come when its time.

Put your heart into it, but don't take yourself or your work too seriously. Chaos always precedes creation, so let yourself be messy. Write bad poetry when you have writer's block, it may not cure the block, but it will make you laugh, and laughter makes everything lighter and easier.

Be kind to yourself. Practice good self-talk. Be kind to others. Say kind words to them. Support other writers and take the time to give encouragement- there is room enough for us all.
