Amberrlaurenn asked Dawn Kurtagich:

What inspires you to write the way you do, and especially in that particular genre? I myself am only in grade 10, and while I enjoy creative writing assignments the most, I am always looking for new perspectives and inspiration in regards to my writing, inside and outside of English class. (By the way, your work is tops my list of most astounding pieces, great job!) I look forward to more. :)

Dawn Kurtagich Thank you! I'm honoured. For me, writing with different forms is the most interesting part of a new story. The way a story is told is important—if you tell a ghost story from the perspective of the ghost, it will be very different than from the perspective of the person being haunted. And if you told the same ghost story from the perspective of the ghost, but the ghost could only sing in poetry, then that would be even more different. I like to think about what would mystify me the most. What would haunt me the most. And then I fall into the story and I don't come up for much air! :-D
