Was there an actual person who was your inspiration for Maisie Dobbs? She is such a consistent and compassionate character and you seem to know her well. I have read every book in the series and look forward to the next.

Hi Jacqueline, First, re the mention of options for Maisie, if someone follows through, will you will have some control over how it is done? I love the series & would hate to see a hatchet taken to it. Second, I still find it hard to accept that you killed James, after Maisie has had so many terrible losses and such a help to others. (IMO, not really a spoiler, since it happened several books ago.)
