The sexual references aren't actually that much and are dealt with well. I'd be more worried about the language and violence in the book but again it depends on the individual child. The violence can be a bit much for younger ages and there's a lot of the s and f word used. I'd personally say this is more a book for mid teens and was advertised to me personally as 14+. (less)
