I really liked the book and felt like it had a very valuable message, but the profanity is quite bad. There are two brief sexual scenes. I wouldn't want my own child to read those scenes, but I don't necessarily feel like they are too much for a middle schooler (there is mention of a "bulge" in the boys pants that the main character is moving her hands towards, as well as condoms. That's about the worst of it). The language, however, was the issue for me.(less)
