Goodreads asked Jaime Allison Parker:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jaime Allison Parker I generally pick a mundane setting, based on the image of a memory or painting, and begin describing it. Usually, a picture emerges and then a back story for the setting. For instance, I once remember seeing a man in a train station, smoking a cigarette. His shoes were worn out, and his face unshaven. I begin typing about him. It occurred to me he was on the run from the law, or maybe he was trying to see a girl one last time before being captured and sent to prison. Thus, I had another tale to write.
