Doreen Smith asked:

Did anyone else notice the extremely numerous grammatical mistakes? Did ANYONE edit the book? If so, they should be fired, it's unacceptable that a book can be released with so many errors!

Vaida I was also wondering about proofreading, mentioned it in my review as well. Furthermore, the mistakes don't end with the grammar, there are also logical issues. For instance:
"On Monday, London’s last day of school before winter break, I finally got around to the Christmas list that Vivian had left me.",
Two pages later:
"Tuesday, December twenty-second, was London’s last day of school before the winter break, and that was when I planned to wrap all the gifts."
Is the kid on Groundhog Day or what?
Sky Greene Yes! There were so many that it took away from the book for me. There were so many missing words like a, by, the, etc., using 'he' when it should have been 'she', words that made no sense in the sentence (I think 'wish' was in one when it should have been 'we' or something like that.

On top of the grammatical errors, attention to details was missing as well. The one that bothered me most was Russ would go on long 5-8 mile runs in the morning. Hello....London is still in the house sleeping and now she has been left alone, for over an hour. No good parent would do that. I don't think NS or the editor even thought of that.
Gamuchirai Chisamba Yes, there are so many grammatical errors. Am surprised how the book went on to be published with such errors. What happened to proof reading? I have never come across this in his other books.
Holly I JUST read something that caused me to search if anyone else felt the same. I just read “I kissed the top of her head. ‘But not too long, all right? It’s already almost bedtime.’ I kissed the top of her head and headed toward the door.” Double take. Lots of very similar sentences too close together.
