Whatever happened to Wang Miao? I just began reading this book, and it seems that he's not there anymore. He was a key character of the first book. How come he just disappears? This is distracting me a lot.

Sir Gawain I wondered that too.
There was one paragraph about 3/4 of the way through the Dark Forest that mentioned him, or someone I assumed was him. It was Shi Qiang saying something along the lines of "You remind me of an intellectual I knew 200 years ago. I looked him up and he had a happy life and lived to about 100."
That's it. I guess he served his purpose.
