This might be a crazy question but I've been told this is YA by some, then been told its middle grade by others... Which is it?

Amanda Definitely not middle grade, as it deals with some very heavy topics in detail. I think it's more suitable for older teens.
Mary I'd say 14 and up.
Carrie It depends on maturity, fragile adults should tread carefully too.
Amaya I'm 6th grade and I liked it but I might not recommend to people my age, maybe 15+
Jessica Pan The writing should be understandable for middle schoolers, but the topics are very heavy. I wouldn't say middle schoolers can't read them, I know I read a lot of heavy things even in 6th grade. Just be careful, and make sure you know what you're getting into. It's definitely a great novel for teenagers and up though!
Jillian It just depends on the maturity of the kid. I'm 13 and I liked it, but it definitely dealt with some YA issues that I wouldn't recommend for 6th graders, and some 7th graders.
