I'm thinking of this book in the context of the recent US Presidential election: voters making a choice between the candidates, based on uncertainty / probabilities of course. So many people viewed both candidates as a loss; or one as a definite loss of some unknown magnitude, and the other as a possible gain of unknown magnitude. Can someone help me sort out this analysis, in light of this book?

This book is about how Kahneman and Tversky came up with the idea that man does not always make decisions rationally. It's basically a biographical history. You would be better served reading Kahneman's Thinking Fast and Slow. Or google "good books on heuristics."
