Joseph Kay
Joseph Kay asked:

Am I simple or something? I read Permutation City and was absolutely blow away, this one though I can not put anything together. I'm 30% in and have ZERO clue of what's going on. Certainly this book might be written for the mathematically talented.......anyone?

Mathew Even with a background in computer science, mathematics and physics, it's still heavy going. It gets even heavier later on.
Joe Dean Yes it is confusing at first. it starts in the present on the spaceship (well, present in the future) and then most is a flashback that returns to the present intermittently. Yeah I'm not mathematically inclined, but I enjoyed trying to visualize the geometry described. I've read three of his books, and this is my favorite. In fact it sort of ruined Sci-Fi for me because it's so good. I used to be an avid reader of Sci-Fi.
Carlos González I have the same impression. Permutation City is one of my favorite novels. But I'm not liking this novel at all. It is true that I have only 20 pages but still absolutely nothing to do with Ciudad Permutación that catches you from the first page...
