What made you decide to create an include Khalila Seif in your Great Library trilogy, an Arab girl and a Muslim who actually wears hijab, who manages to be a kickass character?

Rachel Caine Norain, thank you! I really wanted to show that the Great Library was an international organization, drawing in people from every corner of the world, and as I started writing that group of people, Khalila came to me as a tribute to all of the wonderful Muslim ladies, especially the hijabis, that I've met in my travels. So many were die-hard fans of the Morganville series!

I wanted to give them someone they could call their own, and I am so glad you like her (she's incredibly fun to write)! I desperately want to do her justice, and I hope that I will continue to do so.
