If there's one thing I'm glad about it's that Behind Closed Doors has brought the subject of psychological abuse - which is so much harder to prove than physical abuse - into the open. You're right, many cries for help are often not clear, because there's no porof and victims think they won't be believed, but they need to be heard.
I always knew that the story would end well, I couldn't have written it otherwise. But I didn't plan the exact ending, it just came about of its own accord, which was wonderful.
