Goodreads asked Will Holcomb:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Will Holcomb The Infinite Jeff has an interesting origin. I had an hour and forty-five minute commute to work at one point in my career. I listened to a lot of audio books I downloaded from librivox.org (awesome site). While listening to "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions" I was struck with an idea for a story. I called my sister, who is a writer, and gave her the idea. She said If someone would have explained Christianity to her like that when she was younger she wouldn't have thrown it away. But there is no way she could write a story like I wanted with her current beliefs. She said that if I would give her an outline she would write it. So I, having never written before, sat in front of my computer and wiggled my fingers for three months. The story that transpired in front of me was not the story I had originally envisioned but much bigger and profound. I did not send her an outline, I sent her a 150,000 word rough draft. She and I have been hammering that rough draft into "The Infinite Jeff" ever since. Thanks for all your help, Jackie.
