I'm 25 years old and I have a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. This book is fascinating in terms of explains clearly where the idea of modern computer comes from, and how it reaches the current state. However, I don't think one can fully appreciate the whole book without substantial knowledge in Mathematics, Engineering, and History (Yes!), though you may skip the parts that you are not interested in.
In conclusion, it is definitely not a walk in the garden and takes a lot of effort to finish the book. Personally, I will not recommend this book to a teenager.
