When long term psychiatric inpatient stays were no longer possible due to denial by insurance companies I felt driven to write of my time there, of what I had learned, and of what I could pass on to outpatient therapists to aid them in their work with difficult to treat clients in particular, but also for clients in general. At the end of the day, this book describes the workings of the human psyche and pertains to us all.
