This book was very much a personal project. I was snooping in my grandmother's closet and found two boxes of old photos. In them were postcards to my mom (my aunt hadn't been born yet) from her grandmother, who had been trapped in Romania under Communism. I wanted to try and piece together her life as best I could up until the point when her son (my grandfather) was born.
