Thanks! Like many of my characters, Samirah is based on some former Muslima students of mine. Also I have done a fair amount of research on Islam over the years, including reading many different English interpretations of the Quran and the Hadith. I am glad the character rang true for you!

I'm wondering because Percy shares a birthday with my brother and Kane is my last name, I've always found it very interesting and people I know never hesitate to point It out.

I'm currently at the fifth book in the Heroes of Olympus series. I am obsessed with Leo and the idea of him and Calypso running Leo and Calypso's Garage: Auto Repair and Mechanical Monsters, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, Lemonade and Stew (I just love it). Do you have any plans for a standalone follow-up of their story? I would love to read that.
