Which classics are your favorites? What's your opinion about the fact that many teenagers and young people stopped reading them? Did the classics you read influenced your style?

A lot of the "Classics" were never meant to be kids' books in the first place. Dickens, Shakespeare, Austen, Twain. These were popular books of the day, written for adult audiences, that have now somehow morphed into high school curriculum. I've never been sure that's a very good idea if we want kids to love reading and see it as relevant to their lives. I didn't read classics when I was a kid. I read comic books. *But* later I became an English major and read pretty much everything.

Hey, Mr. Riordan, I want to say that the Disney+ adaptation of Percy Jackson was just *chief's kiss* brilliant. So since Percy Jackson is under Disney, do you think it'll have it's own place in the park? like how they have Marvel-inspired rides at Disney; would they have one for Percy Jackson? Maybe they could do the Tunnel of Love because that'd be cool, and one last question: do you think they'll sell merchandise?
