I've just started the first of the Indranan War books, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Will we see some strong friendships between women in this and the sequel?

Morning Kelley! Glad you're enjoying it!
Hail's position of power made it challenging to develop any really strong friendships that would be visible to the reader between her and other nobles and/or her Guards. And since the book is through her eyes it was also challenging to give the reader a glimpse of the background relationships.
*laughs* All that to say that there are good friendships between women going on on the periphery that I hope the reader can see, but Hail is sadly somewhat isolated due to her position as empress.
