Kennedy Mitchell asked Katie Ruggle:

Hi Katie, I am half way through 'Hold Your Breath' and loving it! I stayed up way too late trying to finish it last night. I noticed you published all your books this year and I was wondering why you decided to do it that way instead of stagger them out. Also did you write them ALL in a year or have these books been a work in progress for a while?

Katie Ruggle Hi Kennedy,

Yay! And thank you! I'm so happy you're enjoying Hold Your Breath. :-) The release schedule was actually my publisher's (Sourcebooks') idea, although I fully approved--personally, I hate waiting for sequels! There were a few times during edits when I was working on three manuscripts at once (!!!) that I thought it was crazy to have all the books come out only two months apart, but it was worth it in the end. This way, readers didn't have to wait too long to find out what happened next.

I wrote the rough drafts of all four in about seven or eight months in late 2014-early 2015. Being snowed in for weeks at a time at my off-grid home in the Colorado mountains helped my productivity a lot (my sanity, not so much ;-)).

Thank you again! I hope you love the last half of Hold Your Breath just as much as the first. :-)

Happy Reading,
Katie Ruggle
