Goodreads asked Mark Andrew Heathcote:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Mark Andrew Heathcote What I like about writing: writing is a very selfish act that requires lots of internalising self-reflection often alone, this, in turn, helps many writers in becoming a much more rounded balanced person by looking at all their own, weaknesses frailties and those of others. It also allows them to escape their own, humdrum repetitious daily chores and be a little more creative and imaginative - that is more than your average Joe on the street.
