Somewhat. There is a lot of blushing as well as a forming love-square-type-thing, and it is often suggested that one character has fallen in love with another. There are a few scenes involving kissing or almost-kissing. But I feel that this book mainly set up a conflict of relationships to be resolved in future novels.
