R asked Michael J. Sullivan:

Hi Michael, Your website doesn't have a section on book order reading? I've searched online and found conflicting info. I'm listening to Age of Myth which I'm thoroughly enjoying. Very happy with Tim Gerard Reynolds as voice narrator, btw. Would appreciate guidance on the ready order please. Thank you.

Michael J. Sullivan Hey there, thanks for stopping by. Sorry you didn't find the information on the website. It's at the bottom of the books page. I'll look into getting that higher up.

I do get this question a lot and for me, personally, say order of publication for a few reasons.

* It's a better value - each book is actually two full-length novels in one and since all the books are priced about the same you get two books for the price of one.

* It's the way I wanted you introduced to the characters and the world. I start out simply (and hold a lot back so I can expose it across the whole narrative). I think this is rewarding as there is always something new to discover about the protagonist's pasts.

* I put little Easter eggs in Chronicles for people who have read Revelations.

That said, I've had good feedback from people who have read in Chronological order they insist THAT is the best way. What that tells me is my goal of making both orders a satisfactory approach was met, and I'm really happy about that. So, while my preferred order is publication order, if you are the type of reader who is wedded to chronological you should be pleased if you go that route.
