The best thing about being a writer is that moment I read something I've written and worked on and edited and re-edited and think, "This is what I meant to say." There's an incredible satisfaction in that moment. More specifically, as a novelist, the best thing is creating characters. They really do become the grown-up equivalent of your imaginary friends on the playground.
