Mike W asked Eden Robins:

I'm halfway through Remember You Will Die and you've completely blown my mind with what you're pulling off. Stunning. May I know your educational background? There is an incredible breadth and depth of knowledge on display in the novel and so I'm expecting to hear you walked the halls of something covered in Ivy. But I'm kind of hoping to hear autodidact and that you were once a kid who read the dictionary for fun.

Eden Robins Hi! I don't want to be disingenuous and say I didn't get a good education - I did! - but I'm not sure my Bachelor's degree from (mumblemumble) years ago did the heavy lifting here. In writing Remember You Will Die, I gave myself permission to do whatever I wanted - which was really scary and invigorating - and for me that just meant following my interests and curiosities, however strange they might be, and trusting that I'd figure out how to put it all together in the end. I did my research on the fly as I was writing, learning as I went along, and that kept it fun and alive to me. Oh and I *definitely* read the dictionary for fun as a kid.
