Goodreads asked Fred Van Lente:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Fred Van Lente Writer's block is really just the fear of writing something bad, so you don't write. This is the problem. You need to give yourself the freedom to suck. And you must write something almost every day, or you'll never finish a single thing. Sometimes it's only once you've finished a story do you know what it's about. Only then can you go back and revise it until it's good. Ergo, as writer's block is the inability to write, you can only overcome it by _writing._
