Caitlyn asked Chris Grabenstein:

Hello Mr. Grabenstein- I have my heart set on a story I'm writing. I'm attached to the characters & one day, hope to get it published. There's just one little problem; I'm out of ideas. I've had writer's block for quite some time and I've looked back on my rough draft several times but nothing's come to me. Has this ever happened to you, and if so, how did you overcome this and find ideas again?

Chris Grabenstein No. As I teach when I visit schools, just don't try to make it perfect in the first draft because you will rewrite that draft at least a dozen times before yo show it to anyone. Let your imagination run wild and let the characters tell you where they want to go next.
