Goodreads asked Rick Armstrong:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Rick Armstrong Sometimes I just put it away for awhile, and give my thoughts time to ferment. Other times if I am stuck on one point, I'll work elsewhere in the story. I tend to jump around a lot in my early drafts. I might be struggling to hash out the details in one chapter, and suddenly be inspired with another scene. But the BEST way I have found to overcome writers block is go to bed late, when I have to be up early in the morning. That is almost certain to inspire me enough to get up and start working, knowing full well I will be facing the next day on little to no sleep.
