My feeling about movie adaptations is this: If you are lucky enough to be approached by Hollywood, there is only one question you need to ask yourself: "Am I willing to let this go?" Because we all know that movies are always different from books, and it shouldn't surprise us when changes are made. So the only question is — can you accept that, as an author? Once you relax into that reality, you can enjoy the movie for its own merits, and see it as a completely different entity from the book.
