Simeon asked Mark Lawrence:

Given the choice, would you prefer you readers to buy your books in e-reader edition? Or would you prefer us to buy the printed editions? Just an outline of your opinion will be enough. I ask as I'm considering buying an e-reader and reading in digital format in future. Sorry if this has been asked before!

Mark Lawrence Emotionally I like readers having physical copies of my books in their houses. I don't read ebooks and it feels more real to me to have my words on paper.

Financially I get a larger % of the cover price from electronic copies (17.5% of an ebook as opposed to anything from 10%-4% of a hardcover or paperback). Paperbacks put very little money in my pocket. But 9% of the hardcover cover price can beat 17.5% of the ebook price depending on the prices at the time ... so it's not clear which pays best of those two.

Anyway. Thanks for asking.

If you want to support an author the most important thing is to buy early (or pre order).
