At this point I don't remember much about the original inspirations for the story, or where the different ideas came from that eventually became this book, but I do know that in the last draft I wrote of the book, it was mostly Alex and Miles motivating me. I wanted to make a story worthy of how much they meant to me after all the years I spent with them.
