Melanie Dickerson Hi, Blessing! I believe The Selection is based on The Princess and the Pea fairy tale. (I could be wrong, because I haven't read it.) I wrote a book also based on The Princess and the Pea, The Beautiful Pretender. You can try it out and see if you think it has more drama. :-) God bless!
